How to Enable LPR for Windows 7

Symptom: There is no LPR port or LPR command on Windows 7.

Cause: Windows 7 does not have LPR available by default.

Solution: Follow these steps to enable LPR for Windows 7.

These steps will add LPR printing to Windows 7.

1. Open the Control Panel

2. Click on Programs

3. Click on Programs and Features

4. Click on Turn Windows Features On or Off (on the left side)

5. Click the plus sign to expand Print and Document Services

6. Check the box next to LPR Port Monitor

7. Click OK
