1. Determine the current IP address of your Sharp
This step is not required if you already know the current IP address of the Sharp. This step may be helpful to confirm if you actually need to assign a new IP address to the Sharp after all.
At the MFP:
1. Press the "System Settings" physical button ("Custom Settings" on older models).
2. Touch the "List Print" button on the touch panel.
3. Select to print "All Custom Settings List"

Note: Some smaller models have a network expansion kit (AR-NB2 or AR-NB3) installed on the rear of the copier. To obtain the IP address from these, press and hold the small black button located just above the ethernet jack (rear left side of the machine if standing in front) for at least 5 seconds.
Once you have obtained the "All Custom Settings List" print out, look for "IP Address" or "IPv4 Address". The IP address location on the print out varies from model to model. If dashes are displayed, then the ethernet patch cable may be unplugged from the machine. Verify a good cable is plugged in to the MFP and to a live (active) data port (jack) in the wall, switch, modem or router. The ethernet jack on the MFP should have a link light (green) and blinking light (amber) to show network activity.
Example: A common IP address listed for many Sharps is: 192.168.0.201
2. Determine the IP address of your computer
PC:
1. Click Start
2. Run (Can also use Search in Windows Vista/7)
3. Type: CMD and click OK
4. Type: ipconfig
5. Write down the IP (IPv4 in Windows Vista/7) address, AND the Subnet Mask and Gateway to be entered at the Sharp later (step 4).
Example:
IP Address: 192.168.0.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
MAC:
1. Click System Settings
2. Click Network
3. Write down the IP address, Subnet Mask and Router (Gateway) to be entered at the Sharp later (step 4).
Example:
IP Address: 192.168.0.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.0.1
3. Determine and confirm a new IP address to assign the Sharp
If the current IP address for the Sharp from step 1 is: 192.168.1.201 and the IP address displayed on the computer from step 2 is: 192.168.0.100, then it is recommended you assign the Sharp a new IP address of: 192.168.0.201. In this case the only part that changed was the "1" to a "0" in the 3rd octet. It is always good practice to confirm that the newly chosen IP address for the Sharp is not being used by any other device on the network by Pinging it.
Below are a few common examples that can be used as a guide:

4. Assign the new IP address to the Sharp MFP
At the MFP:
Newer Models
1. Touch the "System Settings" physical button
2. Touch "Admin Password" (on the touch panel)
3. Touch the Password bar to enter the password: admin
4. Touch OK
5. Touch OK
6. Touch "Network Settings"
7. Be sure "DHCP" is not checked and enter the new IPv4 address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway using the numeric key pad. Tip: Touch each box (octet) to enter the corresponding number/s.
8. Touch Ok when finished
9. Power off the machine for at least 5 seconds and power it back on for the settings to take effect.

Older Models
1. Touch the "System Settings" ("Custom Settings" on AR models) physical button
2. Touch "Administrator Settings" ("Key Operator Programs" on AR models) on the touch panel
3. Enter 00000 (5 0's)
4. Touch "Network Settings"
5. Be sure "DCHP" is not checked and enter the new IP address (or IPv4), Subnet Mask, and Gateway using the numeric key pad. Tip: Touch each box (octet) to enter the corresponding number/s.
6. Touch Ok when finished
7. Power off the machine for at least 5 seconds and power it back on for the settings to take effect.
5. Create a new port for the Sharp MFP to allow printing again
PC:
The following steps need to be performed at each computer (unless the printer is shared from a Server).
1. Right-click the Sharp (Printers and Faxes of Control Panel) or Devices and Printers in Windows 7.
2. Click Properties (Printer Properties in Windows 7).
3. Click the Ports tab.
4. Click "Add Port..."
5. Double-click "Standard TCP/IP Port".
6. Click Next at the Standard TCP/IP Port Welcome Wizard.
7. Enter the new assigned IP address and click Next.
8. Select the default "Generic Network Card" and click Next.
9. Click Finish.
10.Click Close (Printer Ports box).
11.Confirm the new IP address has a checkmark in the box next to it.
12.Click Apply.
13.Click OK.
Note: If you do not have the Sharp printer installed please install the Sharp printer.

For multiple MACS (advanced users)
All of the information of the Printer Setup Printer List is contained in one file and one folder. Make the changes on one computer (open the file with BBEdit or something else and change the IP and save), and then copy these two items to every computer. Note: Use the 'GO' menu to go to ' /etc/cups/'. You will see the files (below). Double-click the files. If they do not open, use 'Get Info' to change the privileges.
