See attached PDF.  At the time of this writing, all fax machines require an analog fax line.  If your fax machine is experiencing intermittent issues, or if it can send but not receive or vice versa, please read the attached pdf.  Keep in mind that fax machines were not designed to operate properly with a digital VoIP (Voice over IP) line.  If you are using a VoIP (digital) line, it is recommended that you contact your phone provider or I.T. person to address this issue.
