Open Devices and Printers by clicking the Start button, and then, on the Start menu, clicking Devices and Printers.

Right-click a printer, and then click Printer properties.

Click the General tab, and then type the new name in the text box.

Open Printers by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking Printers.

Click the printer that you want to rename, and then click Rename this printer on the toolbar. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Next to the printer's icon, enter the new printer name.
