HP LaserJet Pro Color M375 and M475 MFP Product Series - Installing the Scan to Email and Scan to Network Folder Features

Introduction

This document describes how to install Scan to Email and Scan to Network Folder features.
What is Scan to Email and Scan to Network Folder?
  • Scan to Email: From the control panel, send a scanned image to email addresses, without a PC
  • Scan to Network Folder: From the control panel, scan and store a scanned image to a shared folder on the network.
If the product does not have Scan to Email or Scan to Network Folder icon under the Scan icon on the control panel, these features can be added by updating the product firmware and software. Please use the following steps to update the product firmware, uninstall the current software, and install the new software.
Instructions
Update the product firmware.
  1. For the M475dn or M475dw go to the following URL: www.hp.com/support/LJColorMFPM475 .
    For the M375nw go to the following URL www.hp.com/support/LJColorMFPM375 .
  2. Choose Download Software and Drivers .
  3. For the M475 products select the specific product, M475dn or M475dw. For the M375nw, go to step 4.
  4. Select your operating system and click Next .
  5. Scroll down the page and locate the firmware heading.
  6. Click the HP LaserJet Pro Series Firmware Update Utility .
  7. Click and read the installation instructions on the View Directions link.
  8. Click Download and select Run to start the firmware update.
  9. In the firmware update utility, in the Select Printer to Update section click the drop down arrow and select HP LJ300-400 color MFP M375-M475 PCL5 and click Send Firmware .

    NOTE: Do NOT turn off the product during the update or attempt to use the product during the firmware update.
  10. After the firmware update, Scan to Email and Scan to Network Folder icons will appear under the Scan icon on the control panel.
