From the Sharp MFP Web interface:
For AR series Sharp MFPs:
You must use the LPR protocol instead of RAW protocol with the queue name of PORT1 (right-click the Sharp printer in Printers and Faxes > Properties > Ports > Configure Port > select LPR and type PORT1 for the queue name and enable LPR byte counting).
Login to the MFP via its IP address
. Click Admin Mode (username: admin, password: Sharp), Scroll down to Network Setup and select Protocol. In the TCP/IP tab, look for "Use FTP/LPD Banner:" and select enable or disable from the drop down menu and click Submit.
For MX series Sharp MFPs:
You must use the LPR protocol instead of RAW protocol with the queue name of PORT1 (right-click the Sharp printer in Printers and Faxes > Properties > Ports > Configure Port > select LPR and type PORT1 for the queue name and enable LPR byte counting). Login to the MFP via its IP address. Click Network Settings > Print Port Settings > in the LPD Tab scroll down to "Use Banner" and select enable/disable and click Submit.
From Windows XP:
A separator or banner page typically states who sent the document to the printer and gives the date and time of printing. You can use one of the standard separator pages or create a custom page. Windows provides three separator page files, which are located in the
systemroot
\System32 folder.
To choose a separator page:
To set up separator pages, you must have the Manage Printers permission, which is one of several printer permissions.
1. Open Printers and Faxes
2. Right-click the icon for the printer you are using, and then click Properties.
3. On the Advanced tab, click Separator Page.
4. Click Browse and find your systemroot\System32 folder.
5. Specify one of the separator page files that Windows provides in the System32 folder:
Pcl.sep, which prints a page after switching the printer to PCL printing.
Sysprint.sep, which prints a page after switching the printer to PostScript printing.
Pscript.sep, which does not print a page after switching the printer to Postscript printing

)
Note: To have the separator page print on colored paper, change the Default Paper Type to "Color" on the web interface (Click Network Settings > Print Port Settings) and change the paper tray setting to "Color" (System Settings > Paper Tray Settings) for the tray containing the color paper.
